拱形骨架模具是在兩側使用的，通常是帶有培土的工程，上面放置護坡磚，一是為了保護培土，二是為了防止水土流失。水利河道使用的是特殊尺寸的路基護坡塑料模具，通常是鎖塊模具或者連鎖模具，而在高鐵或者鐵路兩側使用的是六棱塊模具，因為這種模具價格低，護坡效果好，從遠處看外形美觀、大方。路基護坡模具四面是可以拆卸的，在使用之前先在護坡模具內模刷一層脫模劑或噴一層機油均可，這樣在脫模的時候水泥件就不會粘模，不會影響水泥件的外觀。護坡模具使用完以后會留下很多水泥渣，拱形骨架模具用完以后加以清理，儲存在陰涼干燥的地方，禁止與腐蝕性的物品一起儲存，這樣以來拱形骨架模具使用五年以上是沒問題的。
